Nunawading Basketball is home to the Melbourne East Basketball Association and its representative teams - the Nunawading Spectres; one of Australia’s largest and undeniably successful basketball programs. At present, Nunawading Basketball facilitates programs and competitions for over 12,000 players, coaches and officials on a weekly basis with in excess of 17,000 people utilising the Nunawading Basketball Centre each week.
From introductory and beginner programs, domestic competitions through to elite level basketball, Nunawading Basketball provides a diverse, inclusive environment for our members to enjoy the benefits of participating in a team sport played by over 450million people worldwide.

An inclusive family environment
Our Swish Clinics are designed to support our local schools and their physical education curriculum. In 2018, Nunawading Basketball delivered over 50 clinics to primary schools in our community, introducing and reinforcing health and wellbeing to over 25,000 school aged children. Swish Clinics are fully funded by Nunawading Basketball, meaning every clinic delivered has zero cost impact on our local schools.
At secondary level, Nunawading Basketball launched in partnership with Forest Hill College, the Forest Hill Basketball Academy offering prospective enrolments access to a full time high performance training environment whilst participating in a rigorous and comprehensive academic program that opens up pathways into VCE/VET.
In late 2017 Nunawading Basketball announced a brand new commercial initiative aimed at bringing together proactive business contacts across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs with the launch of, AssistME. AssistME introduces you and your organisation to a unique and innovative network designed to strengthen your relationships, opportunities and outcomes. Offering a series of quarterly events, AssistME facilitates environments focused on presenting expert advice, panel discussion and professional introductions.
