The Nunawading ‘Burwood One’ Spectres have set off their own New Years fireworks, announcing today that star American, Kathleen Scheer has signed with the club for the 2019 Elite League season.
The stakes remain high with one round remaining in the South East Australian Basketball League regular season. The Nunawading ‘Burwood One’ Spectres will have both women’s and men’s teams feature in the post season once again, but the battle for ladder position and ultimately their first-round finals match ups still hangs in the balance.
Moving into second place on the ladder after taking care of both Tasmanian teams, Nunawading were paced by two impressive performances from Izzy Chilcott as she earned the Round 9 Player of the Week award.
The Nunawading ‘Burwood One’ Spectres enter the South East Australian Basketball League’s mid-season break well and truly in contending positions, with the women sitting second (9-3) and the men third (8-3) on the competition ladder following nine rounds.
