While both teams found scoring difficult to come by, Nunawading\u2019s effort on the defensive end remained a strong point, holding the Cavaliers well below their season average. But offensive inconsistencies continued to limit the home side\u2019s ability to control the tempo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"900\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Spectres Head Coach Paul Flynn offered a measured but pointed reflection postgame.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"902\" data-end=\"1205\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYou can\u2019t expect to win games consistently if you don\u2019t value the possessions you\u2019re given,\u201d Flynn said. \u201cWe\u2019re doing the hard part &#8211; holding teams to numbers that should win you games. But basketball has a way of exposing the areas where you\u2019re not sharp. Right now, we\u2019re not sharp enough offensively.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1207\" data-end=\"1341\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Nunawading generated quality looks for much of the night but struggled to convert, a theme that concerns the Spectres Coach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1343\" data-end=\"1630\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cWe\u2019re getting to our spots. The structure is there. But there\u2019s a difference between taking a shot and taking ownership of a moment,\u201d Flynn continued. \u201cToo often we\u2019re passing up the opportunity to impose ourselves. And when you do that, the game doesn\u2019t wait for you to figure it out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1632\" data-end=\"1780\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Despite the offensive woes, the Spectres remained in the contest until the final minutes, a testament to the team\u2019s defensive resolve and toughness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1782\" data-end=\"2044\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cThere\u2019s no shortage of grit in this group,\u201d Flynn said. \u201cBut grit has to be paired with execution. It\u2019s not about trying harder &#8211; it\u2019s about being better in the moments that count.
