The Nunawading Spectres are pleased to announce the signing of Hong Kong international and former Women\u2019s Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) professional Li Tsz Kwan<\/span> (\u674e\u7949\u5747) for the remainder of the 2026 NBL1 South season.<\/span><\/p>\n

A trailblazer for women\u2019s basketball in Hong Kong, Li arrives at Nunawading following professional experience internationally and as a representative of the Hong Kong National Team. Widely regarded as one of the leading figures in Hong Kong women\u2019s basketball, she has built a growing profile throughout Asia through both her on-court performances and role in helping elevate the visibility of the women\u2019s game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Li made history as one of the first Hong Kong women to compete professionally in the Women\u2019s Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA), widely recognised as one of the strongest women\u2019s basketball leagues in the world outside the WNBA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nunawading Spectres Head Coach and General Manager \u2013 Representative, Brand & Commercial, Paul Flynn, said the club was excited to welcome Li into the program.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLi brings professionalism, experience and a high-level competitive background into our environment,\u201d Flynn said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe has competed professionally, represented Hong Kong internationally, and carries herself exceptionally well both on and off the floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe she will make a significant impact on our program across the remainder of the season, while also creating a meaningful connection opportunity with Melbourne\u2019s Hong Kong and broader Chinese communities through basketball.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Li has become a recognised figure within Asian basketball circles, with strong support across Hong Kong basketball media and broader basketball audiences throughout the region. Her arrival further strengthens the Spectres\u2019 growing international profile and commitment to building meaningful connections through the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking on joining the Spectres, Li said she was excited for the opportunity to compete in Australia and join the Nunawading program.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m incredibly excited to be joining the Nunawading Spectres for the NBL1 season. Australia has a fantastic basketball culture, and I can’t wait to hit the court, compete with my new teammates, and give my best for the team.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Li is expected to join the team immediately and will be available for upcoming NBL1 South fixtures.<\/span><\/p>\n
