The Nunawading Spectres are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced coaches for the position of NBL1 South Men’s Head Coach for the 2027 season.<\/span><\/div>\n

Competing in the NBL1 South Conference, the Nunawading Spectres have a proud history of developing athletes and coaches while competing at the highest levels of Australian basketball.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are seeking an experienced and influential leader capable of building on the strong foundations established within our senior men’s program, driving competitive success and contributing to the continued development of athletes, coaches and support staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

About Nunawading Basketball<\/span><\/h2>\n

Nunawading Basketball is home to the Melbourne East Basketball Association (MEBA) and its representative teams, the Nunawading Spectres.<\/span><\/p>\n

As one of Australia’s largest basketball associations, Nunawading Basketball supports more than 15,000 registered players, coaches and officials participating in regular domestic basketball competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Nunawading Spectres represent the Association across the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL), Victorian Basketball League (VBL) and NBL1 South competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Organisation:<\/strong> Nunawading Basketball \u2013 Melbourne East Basketball Association<\/span><\/p>\n

Reports To:<\/strong> General Manager \u2013 Representative, Brand & Commercial<\/span><\/p>\n

Department:<\/strong> Nunawading Spectres Representative Program<\/span><\/p>\n

Appointment:<\/strong> 2027 NBL1 South Season, with appointment terms to be negotiated<\/span><\/p>\n

Position Overview<\/span><\/h2>\n

The NBL1 South Men’s Head Coach is a leadership position within Nunawading Basketball, responsible for the competitive performance, development and overall direction of the Nunawading Spectres NBL1 Men’s team.<\/span><\/p>\n

The successful applicant will be responsible for establishing and leading a competitive playing environment that challenges for success within the NBL1 South Conference, while maintaining a strong commitment to the individual development of athletes, coaches and support staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Head Coach will play a central role in the recruitment and retention of athletes, the appointment and development of coaching and support personnel, and the establishment of a team environment built on trust, accountability, professionalism and a shared commitment to success.<\/span><\/p>\n

Working collaboratively with the General Manager \u2013 Representative, Brand & Commercial, the Head Coach will contribute to roster construction and resource planning within the Association’s approved financial parameters.<\/span><\/p>\n

The position also carries an important responsibility to strengthen the connection between the NBL1 Men’s program and Nunawading Basketball’s broader representative pathway, supporting the progression of athletes and coaches from junior representative basketball through the VBL and into NBL1 competition.<\/span><\/p>\n
