A number of Nunawading Basketball Referee\u2019s were recognized for their outstanding performances at the Basketball Victoria Technical Officials Commission (TOC) Awards Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Jon Chapman was announced the recipient of the Wally Pattison Award – Metropolitan National Referee of the Year. Chapman officiated the 2018\/2019 NBL Grand Final Series and also the historic and record-breaking Australian Boomers v Team USA Game 2 at Marvel Stadium last August.<\/p>\n
Darcey Brooks was named the winner of the Kevin Winter Award – Metropolitan Domestic Basketball Senior Male Referee of the Year, whilst Tiffany Hill Donovan was announced the recipient of the Lexie Lattanzio Award – Metropolitan Domestic Basketball Junior Female Referee of the Year.<\/p>\n
Basketball Victoria\u2019s Technical Officials Manager Bill Mildenhall said this year\u2019s award winners have continued to increase the standards of officiating throughout the state.<\/p>\n
\u201c2019 was incredible for the amount of stellar achievements our referees, referee advisors and branches throughout Victoria have accomplished,\u201d Mildenhall said. \u201cVictoria is lucky to have\u00a0a great mix of elite\u00a0and grassroots\u00a0referees\u00a0and referee\u00a0coaches\u00a0throughout our sport\u00a0who are conscientiously applying their craft\u00a0each and every week.<\/p>\n
