MELBOURNE \u2013<\/em><\/strong> Alice Kunek has agreed to a return to the Nunawading Spectres for the NBL1 South 2023 season, the club announced today.<\/p>\n

Kunek returns to the Spectres having spent the Australian summer plying her trade in Hungary with European powerhouse Sopron Basket. Kunek helped guide her side to a Hungarian Cup Championship, Hungarian League Championship, and a Euroleague Quarter Final appearance, where Sopron eventually fell to a star studded Fenerbahce side.<\/p>\n

At Nunawading, Kunek played 16-games for the Spectres across the 2022 NBL1 South season returning 20.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists, earning herself All-Star Five status. She adds an instant scoring punch to Nunawading\u2019s lineup and tenacious defensive versatility, with an ability to play multiple positions on the floor.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great to be welcoming Alice back into the team,\u201d Nunawading Spectres Head Coach Paul Flynn said. \u201cIt was always the plan to bring her back in post Europe, and I am thrilled we\u2019ve been able to make that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her leadership on and off the floor, and her willingness to share her experiences with our emerging talent will benefit our program for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kunek joins the Spectres (4-4) ahead of their Round 6 road clash against the Casey Cavaliers.<\/p>\n
