Nunawading, Victoria- The Nunawading Spectres are pleased to announce captain and point guard Rachel Antoniadou as the club’s first re-signing ahead of the 2026 NBL1 South season.

Entering her ninth year in the red, white and blue, Antoniadou brings a wealth of experience across the SEABL, NBL1 and WNBL, continuing to be a cornerstone of the Spectres women’s program. In the 2025 season, she led the team with averages of 15 points, 4.74 assists and 3.95 rebounds per game.

A natural playmaker and leader, Antoniadou’s impact extends well beyond the box score, a factor that made her re-signing a priority for the club.

“Re-signing Rachel was an absolute priority for us heading into the 2026 NBL1 South season,” said Women’s Head Coach Paul Flynn. “She’s been a cornerstone of this program for a long time, and her influence extends far beyond what shows up on a stat sheet.”

Flynn highlighted Antoniadou’s leadership and professionalism as key drivers of the program’s culture and direction.

“Rachel sets the standard for how we want this group to work, prepare and compete,” he said. “Her professionalism, care for her teammates and connection to the club are invaluable as we continue to build something both meaningful and sustainable.”

With the Spectres shaping their roster for the upcoming season, Flynn said Antoniadou’s commitment provides critical stability and clarity.

“As we re-shape our roster and identity for 2026, having Rachel committed to the program provides enormous clarity,” Flynn said. “She understands our standards, our values and what it means to represent the Nunawading Spectres.”
