A former Junior Spectres player herself, Brown’s bubbly personality and enthusiasm captured the imagination of the 35 girls and boys who participated, while the skills displayed by the kids exceeded all expectations.

Having been sidelined by COVID-19 throughout 2020 and with many isolated from their friends, the six week program is just what the children needed to get a ball in their hands and be active again. It also doubled as an opportunity to prepare for 2021 Spectres tryouts with the potential easing of restrictions on the horizon.

“Louise is an unbelievably skilled player and an exceptional coach,” shared Spectres Director of Coaching, Tamie Harvey. “Her ability to connect with junior players is what makes our development sessions so good.”

With five more weeks of the program still to run, there is plenty of time to register and help fast track the skill development of any child considering representative basketball in 2021.

“The beauty of using Zoom and online video is that we can still help teach the kids new skills and offer them immediate feedback in order to improve, and there is no limit to how many children we can accept.

“We had six of our under 12 coaches also online offering immediate coaching feedback and encouragement as well, so for kids who want to improve their skills, they could not be in better hands.

“With five weeks to go, we would love to see more kids join us this coming Sunday and get active!”

As the program focuses on basketball fundamentals, a basketball ring is not essential. All your child needs access to in order to participate is:
A basketball (size 6 is preferred)
Enough space with a flat, hard surface in which a basketball can be bounced safely
A laptop or mobile device with video and internet capability
The program runs every Sunday through to 8 November, tipping-off at 11:00am. Registrations will continue to be accepted, so be sure you register to secure a place for your child and receive a Zoom video link via email along with further instructions.

REGISTER NOW – email Melissa Chesterfield via jspadmin@nunawadingbasketball.com.au with the following detail;
Player Name:
Player DOB:
Player Domestic Club:
Parent/Guardian Name:
Phone No:
이메일:

If the ‘Future Spectres’ launch on Sunday, 4 October is anything to go by, then the Nunawading Spectres’ are set to maintain their status as… Read More »

[49,55,50,4

post-1766","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-development","category-domestic","category-junior-spectres","category-slider
["GET
