Nunawading Basketball, on behalf of the Melbourne East Basketball Association and its representative program, the Nunawading Spectres would like to extend its sincere thanks to outgoing Junior Director of Coaching Tamie Harvey.

Following near two decades of service as Director of Coaching, Tamie has made the difficult decision to take on a new challenge with another association.

During her tenure, the Nunawading Spectres have continued to build on its reputation as the premier basketball program in Australia, not just in team success but further evidenced by the number of players and coaches that have extended their basketball careers beyond Nunawading Basketball Centre’s walls, including four players currently in the the Australian Opals squad.

“I am so proud of the Nunawading Spectres junior program and all that the wonderful coaches and I have achieved in the 18 years I have been DoC,” Harvey said.

“ I am honoured to have worked with some of the best coaches in the country as well as players.  Nunawading has proven to be a premier program in the VJBL and will continue to do so for a long time to come.”

“Thank you to my coaches, Spectres families and players for such an amazing opportunity to work with you all, I have loved every minute of it.”

All Spectres teams have settled following selection and have performed well through the first phase of VJBL Grading.

“On behalf of the Nunawading Spectres Family, I would like to wholeheartedly thank Tamie for her dedication and service to the Spectres program,” Nunawading Basketball Operations Manager and Chair, Representative Program Paul Flynn said.

“Tamie bleeds red, white and blue – it is this passion and nous that has seen the program and the people within continue to excel under her guidance.”

“We wish Tamie the very best in her new full-time role in basketball and know that she will continue to have a significant and positive impact on the development of many aspiring young athletes.”

The MEBA will take some time to review the DoC position before seeking to fill the role.
