MELBOURNE – The Nunawading Spectres have signed Tasmania JackJumpers big man Josh Tomasi for the NBL1 South 2023 season.

Tomasi (22) originally from Inverloch arrives at the Spectres as a former teammate of Nunawading representative Joe Mutimer at St. Cloud University, Minnesota. He spent time training with the Spectres NBL1 program last season before landing with the Jack Jumpers in the NBL.

“We’re thrilled to formally welcome Josh to the Spectres program,” Nunawading Basketball Operations Manager Paul Flynn said. “He’s an exciting young prospect that adds both size and athleticism to our team and he will play a pivotal role across the 2023 season.”

Tomasi impressed JackJumpers Head Coach and NBL Coach of the Year Scott Roth earlier this year when his program ran tryout sessions for potential Development Players.

“He’s a tremendous kid and a big, tough athlete … he’s a big, rolling, athletic, strong, powerful kid that’s just scratching the surface … I think he’s someone we’ll invest in and see how he goes in the next year or two,” Roth said.

Tomasi will join his Spectres teammates following the conclusion of the JackJumpers NBL season.
