MELBOURNE – The Nunawading Spectres have announced that they will be returning 6’5” Australian Jacinta Vandenberg for the 2021 NBL1 season, adding to the Spectres frontcourt rotation.

“We’re excited to welcome Jacinta back,” Nunawading Spectres Head Coach Paul Flynn said.

“Jacinta and I have worked together over a long period of time, we know exactly what she can bring to this team the impact she can for us across the NBL1 season.”

“She reads the game well, anchors the defensive end and provides excellent rim protection. In a season where it has been difficult to secure frontcourt personnel, we see Jacinta playing a very important role for us.”

Vandenberg last played for the Spectres in the 2018 season before moving to Italian club Andros Palermo followed by a season with the Rockhampton Cyclones. Now based back in Melbourne, the former Oregon Duck is thrilled to be back with the Spectres.

“I am so excited to be back with Nunawading, it’s a great program with an amazing community focus.”

“The team has the ability to do some great things this season and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”

The Spectres tip off their NBL1 South campaign this Saturday night at Frankston. Limited tickets remain and can be purchased via the following link; https://bit.ly/3miRFXX
