Nunawading Top VC With Nine Teams

NUNAWADING – Basketball Victoria has today announced the 2022 Victorian Championship (U12-U18) teams, with the Nunawading Spectres leading the charge with an impressive nine (9) teams qualifying for the states top division. 

The Spectres qualified all U12-U18 first teams, with the U14.2 Girls (pictured) also winning their way through to Victorian Championship. Nunawading joined by Bulleen, Casey and Kilsyth to have the most number of teams in VC. 

“It is exciting to see the handwork and dedication of our athletes and coaching staff paying off,” Nunawading Basketball Operations Manager Paul Flynn said. 

“Whilst VC qualification provides merely a snapshot of the programs continued success, it is a wonderful acknowledgment of the time invested by many over a number of years and we hope everyone involved in our program both past and present share in this success.”

“It is a testament to our program structure and the strength of our MEBA domestic clubs and competition that play such a pivotal role in the development of these young athletes.”

Victorian Junior Basketball League Manager Adrian Campbell said, “Its been an impressive season already and there’s a lot of excitement around.”

“Whether they’re competing for VC titles or showing their skills in the VJL divisions, we’d like to wish all the VJBL teams the best of luck for the season ahead.”

The U20 divisional structure will be confirmed in the upcoming weeks, with the VJBL season running through to ,mid-September 2022.
