One More Win: Spectres Eye GEBC Cup Sweep at The Graveyard

When the 2026 Greater Eastern Basketball Conference (GEBC) Cup tipped off back in April, we knew the rivalry between the 努納瓦丁幽靈 and the Ringwood Hawks would deliver its trademark intensity. Following a strong display in Part 1, Nunawading holds a 2-0 series lead.

But the GEBC Cup is far from secured, with two strong match-ups set to bring that same intensity to Nunawading’s home court this Saturday night.

The Story So Far

The GEBC Cup is built on a shared commitment to junior development and deep community roots. Although both associations operate independently during the week, they unite to present the Greater Eastern Basketball Conference (GEBC) on Saturdays, joining the Melbourne East Basketball Association and Ringwood Basketball Association.

Nunawading set the tone early in the series, executing a masterclass in poise and execution to silence the Ringwood crowd on their home floor. Now, the series returns to The Graveyard, and the equation is simple: One more victory secures the GEBC Cup. While percentage was originally slated as the potential tiebreaker, the Spectres have the opportunity to take math out of the equation. We have the driver’s seat, the momentum, and the home-court advantage. Now, we need the noise.

This isn’t just another regular-season game. This is about defending our home floor, celebrating the incredible pathway from our Saturday GEBC junior domestic competition to the elite senior level, and lifting a trophy in front of the Nunawading faithful.

A Note for the Next Generation: To every junior Spectre who suits up on Saturdays in the GEBC—this is what you are aspiring to. Come down, wear your domestic or representative colors, and witness firsthand the peak of eastern suburbs basketball.

The following players in our NBL1 sides came through the Nunawading Basketball pathway and GEBC:
