MELBOURNE – The Nunawading Spectres have re-signed sharpshooter Rachel Brewster for the Coles Express NBL1 South season.

Currently plying her trade with the Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL, Brewster is set to rejoin her Spectres teammates following the WNBL Grand Final series tipping off tomorrow night at the Boom Box in Parkville. She contributed 14.8 points and 6.4 rebounds across 14-games for Nunawading in the 2021 NBL1 South season.

“I’m eager to get back on court for the Spectres in what I hope will be an exciting and uninterrupted season,” Brewster said.

“Nunawading is an incredible program, I’m grateful I get to return, and I am looking forward to having a bit of fun.”

Brewster is an integral piece of the Spectres puzzle and one the Head Coach Paul Flynn will be keen to welcome back into the fold at the conclusion on the WNBL season.

“Rach is an incredibly important part of our identity as a team,” Flynn said.

“She is professional in her approach both on and off the court and provides us with a great level of versatility, especially on the offensive end.”

“We’re excited about pairing her with Cass (Mihalko) on the wings, giving us two potent perimeter threats up the floor.”

Brewster joins import duo Megan Mullings, and Cassidy Mihalko, alongside Spectres skipper Rachel Antoniadou as confirmed signings for Nunawading ahead of their scheduled home opener, Saturday 23 April against the Eltham Wildcats.
