Nunawading Spectres U20 Tryout Registration

The Melbourne East Basketball Association and Nunawading Spectres Representative Program is pleased to announce registrations for its upcoming U20 representative tryouts are now open.

Please note, that online registration via the PlayHQ portal above is the only avenue to register for the upcoming tryouts.  

Only players that have registered will be allowed to enter and participate in the Nunawading Spectres U20 Tryouts.

1. No walk-ups will be permitted entry.
2. Tryout Registrations will close at 12:00pm on Friday 10 October.
3. Those that are coming from another representative program will need a Permission to Train (PTT) from your previous club/association. If we do not receive a PTT from your previous club/association prior to your tryout session, you will not be permitted to participate. Click Here to Request a PTT via the Basketball Victoria website. Note, the PTT form will open on 1 September 2025. 

Tryout Guidelines

1. Players can only attend, participate, and be considered for selection if they have registered via the PlayHQ portal (link above).
2. Players are to arrive 20 minutes prior to their scheduled session.
3. Players will be required to check-in on arrival.
4. Players must wear a light/dark reversible, bring an appropriate water bottle/s.
5. If for whatever reason you will be absent from a session, please advise via email; paul@nunawadingbasketball.com.au
6. No parents/guardians, partners, or spectators are permitted.

Nunawading Spectres Registration Fees
The Nunawading Spectres Registration fees for the 2026 season will be $690 per child. (Inc. GST).

• Fees are due in full by 7:00pm Monday 20th October paid through PlayHQ, (link to be provided upon selection).
• There will be no other payment plans available.

The registration acceptance link will be posted online upon finalization of team selection and constitutes acceptance of your place in the Nunawading Spectres Program for 2026 season as well as payment in full.

Our Official Nunawading Spectres U20 Tryout process is structured in Two Stages, with the athlete pool narrowed following each step.

TRYOUTS STAGE 1

SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER
@ Forest Hill College
11:00am-1:00pm Court 1- Men
11:00am-1:00pm Court 2 – Women

TRYOUTS STAGE 2 

TUESDAY 14 OCTOBER
@ Wantirna College
7:30pm-9:30pm Court 1- Men
7:30pm-9:30pm Court 2 – Women

Age Group Eligibility (Based on Year of Birth)
Athletes must meet the age requirements above to be eligible for their age group.

Additional Information

As the Victorian Junior Basketball League reviews its competition offerings, so too does Nunawading Basketball.
The VJBL recently communicated to associations some adjustments to its competition structure. Please see VJBL U20 specific information here. It is the Nunawading Spectres intention to enter both the VC and VJL seasons for U20 Men & Women.
