Spectres Add Import Jalen Gibbs

MELBOURNE – The Nunawading Spectres have signed import guard Jalen Gibbs for the NBL1 South 2023 season.

Gibbs will arrive at Nunawading following his season with Giessen (Germany – Pro B) where he is currently averaging 22.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He spent his senior collegiate season leading Jacksonville State with 11.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists across 32 games for the Gamecocks, including a career high 40-point explosion against Elon University where he went 10-12 from behind the 3-point arc.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jalen to Nunawading this NBL1 South season,” Nunawading Basketball Operations Manager Paul Flynn said.

“Jalen brings significant scoring power with an ability to score in a variety of ways. He shoots the ball incredibly well, can create off the bounce, and screening scenarios which will bolster Coach Cutler’s system this season.”

At 6’3” Gibbs adds size and athleticism to the Spectres backcourt where he’ll pair with Jack Gandolfo and Kingsley Box.  The trio are joined by JackJumpers big man Josh Tomasi and Daniel Baxter who have also committed ahead of NBL1 South 2023.
