Nunawading, Victoria – The Nunawading Spectres are excited to announce the re-signing of Graveyard fan favourite Taylah ‘Choccy’ Schmidtke for the 2026 NBL1 South season.

Schmidtke continued to be a valued presence off the bench in 2025, averaging 12 minutes a game with multiple 5+ point performances. Renowned for her defensive pressure, she added a new dimension to her game, emerging as a confident and reliable offensive threat.

Coming to the Spectres through our Big V Youth League pathway, she has cemented herself as an important part of the women’s NBL1 side.

Spectres Head Coach Paul Flynn praised Schmidtke’s continued development and impact within the group.

“Choc’s growth across the past few seasons has been significant. Her role has expanded year-on-year because she’s proven she can consistently perform at this level. She’s dependable, understands her responsibilities, and now we’re seeing her become more vocal as a leader within the group. That progression is important for us as we continue driving forward.” Coach Paul Flynn.
