Youth Women Fall Short Against Local Rivals

The Nunawading Spectres Youth Women went down to cross-town rivals Ringwood on Sunday afternoon, 54-67, in a physical contest that highlighted both promise and growing pains in equal measure.

Mia Tamburrini led the scoring charge with 12 points and added 5 rebounds, while Lija Lacey-Myers chimed in with 11 points of her own. Teagan Potter impacted the game on both ends of the floor with 7 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals, while Emilia Drmic (5 points, 9 rebounds) and Alice Curnow (7 points, 11 rebounds) provided a strong presence on the glass.

The Spectres battled hard throughout, but lapses in execution at both ends saw Ringwood take control of the second half.

Nunawading now heads into the Easter break at 2-5, with valuable time to reset and refocus ahead of a crucial Round 6 clash at home against Pakenham – the same opponent they overcame in this year’s Youth Qualifying series.

Youth Men Light It Up in Statement Win Over Wyndham

The Nunawading Spectres Youth Men delivered a dominant performance on Sunday, powering past the Wyndham Devils 117-92 in front of an energised home crowd at The Graveyard.

Dylan Johnstone was electric, dropping 30 points and pulling in 7 rebounds in a performance full of confidence and poise. He was well supported by Curtis Brecko (17 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists), who orchestrated much of the offence with precision and pace.

Dihan Wiggett was everywhere – finishing with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists—while Jacob Bourke-Doggett (14 points, 6 assists) and Finn Boag (12 points, 12 rebounds) rounded out a balanced, high-output team performance.

The win snaps a tough run and lifts the Spectres to 2-5 heading into the break. With momentum now in hand, the group will look to build on this result when they return to face a desperate Waverley Falcons outfit in what looms as a key test in Round 6.
