Nunawading, Victoria – The Nunawading Spectres are excited to confirm the signing of centre Ben Griscti for the NBL1 South 2026 season.

The South Australian native joins the Spectres from the Adelaide 36ers and NBL1 Central’s Sturt Sabres, bringing valuable experience at NBL1 level. Across the season, the 23-year-old averaged 16.22 points and 9.39 rebounds per game, highlighted by a standout performance against North Adelaide where he posted 29 points and 16 rebounds to earn best on court honours.

Head Coach Andrew Cutler said the club was thrilled to welcome Griscti to the program. “We’re really pleased to have Ben join our program for the 2026 season,” Cutler said. “Ben is an emerging big with an exciting skill set that should be a great fit with our group. It’s great to have the opportunity to work with him and we’re looking forward to helping to continue his growth and development as a player.”

Standing at 6’11”, Griscti made his Boomers debut in February, representing Australia during the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. Across games against Indonesia and Thailand, he averaged 8.5 points, 5 rebounds and 1.5 assists, further underlining his potential at the international level.

Cutler believes Griscti will have an immediate impact for the Spectres on both ends of the floor. “He’ll play an important role on both ends of the court for us, and we can’t wait to see him in red, white and blue soon!” he said.

Griscti’s recent NBL season was unfortunately cut short due to a fractured vertebrae sustained in an accident during the NBL preseason, when a backboard collapsed during a shoot-around at AIS Arena. The club looks forward to welcoming him to Nunawading as he looks to suit up in the pointy end of the NBL season, and prepares for the 2026 NBL1 South season.
