Nunawading, Victoria – Kate Tanner has re-signed with the Nunawading Spectres for the 2026 NBL1 South season, the club is pleased to confirm.

Another product of the Nunawading Basketball pathway, Tanner played her domestic basketball with the Wattle Park Saints before progressing through the Spectres’ VJBL and Big V programs and earning her opportunity at NBL1 level.

The 6-foot forward averaged 4.05 points and 3.64 rebounds during the 2025 season, with a standout performance in the final game against Keilor highlighting her capabilities as she recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds.

Spectres Head Coach Paul Flynn praised Tanner’s development and defensive impact across the 2025 campaign.

“Kate took a genuine leap last season. She established herself as a reliable NBL1 contributor and became one of our most important defensive pieces. She competes, she’s disciplined, and she sets the tone for how we want to defend. Those habits matter! Just as importantly, she drives standards within the group. She understands what we’re building and reinforces it on the floor.”

Tanner’s re-signing continues the Spectres’ commitment to rewarding homegrown talent as the club builds toward the 2026 NBL1 South season.
