Nunawading Basketball is proud to announce the appointment of Rob Schoenfeld as the new Head Coach of the Nunawading Spectres Big V Youth Men (U23) program.

Schoenfeld steps into the role following two successful seasons as Assistant Coach under Andrew West, bringing with him a deep understanding of the team’s culture, playing group, and expectations at the state league level.

A long-time figure in the Spectres coaching ranks, Schoenfeld has worked across all age groups in the junior representative program, earning a reputation for his technical detail, ability to develop athletes, and commitment to the Nunawading development pathway. His appointment continues the club’s tradition of providing a clear and connected pathway for players, coaches and officials.

In addition to leading the Big V Youth Men, Schoenfeld will also serve as U18 Boys Head Coach in 2026, a move that will help tie together a holistic approach to player development. This dual role is designed to further strengthen the transition from the junior program into senior pathways, replicating the success the club has seen on the women’s side in recent years.

“We’re thrilled to elevate Rob into the role of Big V Youth Men’s Head Coach with our Nunawading Spectres Program,” said Paul Flynn, General Manager – Representative, Brand & Commercial.

“Rob presented exceptionally, and performed well over a quality field of applicants. We’re excited to be able to appoint from within the program, with all four senior head coaches having progressed through the program, further emphasising our Nunawading Basketball pathways provide exceptional opportunities for players, coaches and officials.”

Big V Tryouts for the 2026 season are scheduled for October 2026. Full details, including registration information, can be found here.
