Stadium Redevelopment

Investing in the Future of Our Basketball Community

Nunawading Basketball has a proud history of developing athletes, coaches, and officials at all levels of the game. As one of Victoria’s premier basketball associations, we serve thousands of participants weekly across grassroots programs, domestic competitions, representative programs, and high-performance pathways.

However, our current stadium facilities are at full capacity, limiting our ability to meet growing demand. The Nunawading Basketball Stadium Redevelopment is a vital project designed to expand and modernize our facilities to better support the needs of our community.

This redevelopment will:

  • Enhance access to basketball programs

  • Improve player and spectator experiences

  • Future-proof our ability to accommodate the next generation of athletes

Why We Need the Redevelopment

Court Shortage & Growing Demand

  • Our competitions and programs have outgrown current facilities, forcing teams to train and compete across multiple venues.

Enhanced Player & Spectator Experience

  • Upgraded facilities will provide a more professional environment for athletes, coaches, and fans.

Pathway & Performance Development

  • Additional space will allow improved training environments and access to high-performance programs.

Community Impact

  • Increased capacity means greater access to grassroots basketball, school programs, and community initiatives.

Project Scope & Vision

The redevelopment aims to:

  • Increase the number of courts to accommodate more games and training sessions

  • Upgrade amenities, including change rooms, seating, and spectator areas

  • Improve accessibility and sustainability within the facility

  • Support the ongoing growth of basketball in Melbourne’s east

We are working closely with key stakeholders, including local, state, and federal government bodies, to advocate for funding and ensure this project becomes a reality.
